Nausicaä wasn’t there to wake us up at 6am but out of habit we woke up at that time anyway and after an hour of lying there it was obviouse there was no falling back to sleep for me. So off to the gym (how good of me is that?!).
The gym at sea is rather different, well the gym itself isn’t but using the equipment is. As the ship rises you feel twice the weight and as it falls you feel weightless making for quite an interesting session.
You can choose to take classes such as yoga or Pilates which are $12 each and there are a few free classes which include a stretching class and an abs class. I did the stretching class after a short gym session and for something that it is free it’s pretty good but if you feel like spending a few dollars then I think the paid classes looked much better.
The first day at sea on a cruise ship is always so exciting, we explored the ship from top to bottom and checked out many of the onboard activities – there sure isn’t a lack of things to do. I even convinced Simon to come try out the dance class!
You never know what your going to spot in the distance, we saw sea otters, whales breaching, dolphins playing and so many other things. But there were just a few too many times that I wasn’t carrying binoculars or a camera… can you believe it?! It wasn’t until the last day that we realised that we really should of carried them EVERYWHERE all the time! But at least we still got to see it all, the whales did put on a great show.
